Rev. Melody L. Seaton received her Masters of Divinity in May 2005 from McCormick Theological Seminary.  This faithful journey began in 1999, shortly after joining Covenant United Church of Christ and culminated with her ordination a year later.  Prior to this Rev. Seaton earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Circle Campus and a M.A. in Administration and Supervision from Governor State University.

Rev. Seaton has been an educator for twenty-eight years in various schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Chicago Public School System.  Her area of specialty was her love for children no one else wanted to love.  She was honored for this commitment with several nominations for ‘Teacher of the Year’, the Dorcas Fellowship Award and “The New Life Compassion Award”.   It was through this labor of love, she received her call to the ministry.

Rev. Seaton has been the principal of Gompers Fine Arts Option School in Chicago for nearly eight years.  However, she gives glory and honor to God for allowing her to concurrently serve in various ministerial capacities at Covenant United Church of Christ.  This primarily consists of coordinating the Biblical Studies Institute and pastoral counseling.  Rev. Seaton is also the pastoral liaison for Girls Mentoring: Sisters Helping Sisters, the greatest Usher Board in the world and the anointed Hands of Inspiration.

Rev. Seaton is the proud mother of two wonderful children, Veronique and Ernest Crim III. She was also blessed to have been married to the late Michael Seaton.
