Rev. Wanda Parker

Wanda ParkerRev. Wanda Y. Parker recently joined the staff of Covenant UCC as Pastoral Care Coordinator working with the pastoral staff in visitation of the emergently ill and those awaiting surgery. Ordained in the United Methodist Church, Rev. Wanda has served 17 years.  Currently she is Chaplain/Community Liaison and Bereavement Coordinator at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in the Home Care Division.  Rev. Wanda has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Nursing School and a Master's of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in AtlantaGeorgia.  Since November 2006, Rev. Wanda has been an active member of CovenantU.CC., participating in the CARE and Hospitality Committee.  She has asked to develop a drama ministry, now known as the Covenant Players. Along with other pastoral care responsibilities Rev. Wanda will be coordinating and developing activities of the bereavement program know as “Beloved.” As it is the goal of Covenant to address the needs of its members in an holistic manner the Pastoral Care Coordinator will help to facilitate the process of scheduling hospital visits as well as follow up of members released from the hospital; assist in bereavement support by developing a program which will include regular contact with the bereaved for a year following the loss of a loved one and making available additional resources for support.
